Zambia Mission and Training
Empowering leaders. Impacting lives. Transforming communities through the Gospel.

Our Vision for Zambia

On a recent trip to Zambia, the Lord confirmed that this nation is a ready mission field for the endtime harvest of souls and the strengthening of the Church through sound doctrine and the undiluted ministry of the Word of God.

To this end, at Global Christian Institute (GCI), our heart beats for the spiritual and social transformation of Zambia.

  • Led by Dr. Femi Olowo in London, we believe that the Church in Zambia is a key agent of change.

  • And so, through strategic mission efforts, we aim to equip a new generation of biblically grounded and theologically sound leaders.

  • These will be those that will win the lost, disciple their nation, strengthen local churches, and bring the love of Christ to every sphere of society through compassion and care ministries.

Join us in building a spiritually strong and self-sustaining Christian movement in Zambia.

Zambia Pastors and Leaders Training

GCI conducts structured biblical and theological training tailored for Zambian church contexts, ideally for pastors, evangelists and ministry leaders. We are currently offered full two-year scholarships for pastors and church leaders in Zambia.

Our programmes are designed to empower leaders to discover their true giftings, develop the skills to rightly divide the Word of God, and deploy excellence in the conduct of their ministries.

Training sessions are mainly via online platforms, creating accessible, context-relevant theological education for both urban and rural leaders. Intensive sessions are also delivered through conferences held from time to time in leading city venues such as Lusaka and Ndola in the Copperbelt.

GCI’s faculty and partners deliver teaching through:

  • Online platforms delivered globally

  • Biennially (two yearly) seminars and conferences in major cities

  • Short-term mobile schools delivered in rural areas

  • Certificate and Diploma training courses

  • Ministerial mentoring networks

Those in Zambia interested in GCI training should contact one of our local coordinators or email Dr Femi Olowo at femiolowo@yahoo.com.

Evangelism and Rural Area Missions

We are passionate about evangelism and missions in Zambia’s rural areas. These communities often face deep poverty, limited access to healthcare, and a lack of basic necessities. We support local pastors and churches who take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to remote areas while also addressing their physical needs—fulfilling the Great Commission in the spirit of Matthew 25: "I was hungry and you fed me..."

For instance, each year, a team led by Pastor Will Musonda—now grown from four to seven members, including students on school breaks—ministers in rural areas including towns like Mpika. The outreach, called HOPE FOR VULNERABLE CHILDREN, extends beyond church walls. As pastors and volunteers, they serve children and adults in remote villages.

Also, Bishop Justine Gondwe of Macedonia Mission Center uses heavy vehicles to transport resources and crusade platforms into rural areas to conduct missions amongst the poorer communities. He serves as the President of Nations Mission, a missionary movement focused on church planting in remote areas. Additionally, he holds the position of Bishop for a jurisdiction in the Church of God in Christ in Lusaka, providing spiritual guidance and leadership.

And such types of evangelistic and missions efforts are symptomatic of almost all our affiliated pastors and churches in Zambia.

Compassion and Hospital Ministry

We believe the Gospel is both proclaimed and demonstrated—a message of salvation not only preached from the pulpit but also lived out in acts of mercy and love. Our commitment to Care, Compassion, and Hospital Ministry reflects this conviction.

We support local pastors and churches as they form Hospital Visitation Teams and Compassion Ministries, who serve in hospitals, homes, hospices and communities. These dedicated volunteers offer more than just prayer—they bring the presence of Christ into some of the darkest and most difficult moments of life.

The ministry takes place with three main pillars: Prayer. Presence. Practical Help.

Ministry of Hope and Healing: Volunteers and partners bring the healing hope of Christ to those in physical and emotional need, guided by the love, compassion and mercy of Jesus. In every hospital room, every hospice visit, and every quiet prayer, we are declaring: God sees, God cares, and God is near.

Images from Mission to Zambia April 2025

A team of six of us―Dr Femi Olowo, Rev Rose Hobbs, Rev Mary Burt, Pastor Kemi Abidogun, Bro
Biola Lambo and Sis Winky Newman―travelled from the UK for a week of mission from 9 to 16
April 2025. We ministered in various churches and taught at pastors and leaders conferences in
Mufulira, Ndola and Lusaka. We prayed for the sick in two wards of the Cancer Diseases Hospital,
Lusaka. While we were a blessing to Zambia, we were also richly blessed by the great hospitality
of the many pastors and churches that hosted us, as well as the wonderful reception of the
people to the Gospel and the ministry of the Word of God.
